Neck Pain Relief

Neck ache or stiffness usually occurs due to:

  • Poor posture
  • Working at a desk for too long
  • Sleeping in a bad position
  • Strains from exercise
  • Stress

For ‘at home treatment’, apply cool-packs to the neck for the first few days and follow with a heat compress if pain continues.
If symptoms persist, it is time to schedule an appointment.

With the use of gentle manipulations and massage, Osteopaths can reduce muscular tension in the neck and improve movement in the upper back and joint of the neck.

Advice may be offered on posture while at work or in the car. Demonstrations of exercise and stretching techniques may be proved to help keep muscles and joints relaxed.

Disclaimer: the articles are informal writings from the experiences seen in a clinic setting. They are not written for formal publication or academic critique.
